With BREEZE TankESP, users are able to use different backend files in their projects and can also utilize the time saving feature of having TankESP remember which backend file is being used so the user doesn't need to specify the backend file every time the program opens. The steps below will walk you through how to locate the backend file, confirm the location of the backend file, load a different backend file, and reset the remembered backend file.

Locating a Backend File

When you first open the software or when no back end file is remembered, please follow the steps below to locate a backend file:

  1. When you open the software, a message pops up that begins, “No backend file was found in the current directory”. Click OK.
  2. A window will then appear which will allow you to browse to find the backend file. The file you should locate will be an *.accdb file, named named "TankESP_Back.accdb" or something similar. Select that file.
  3. You will then be prompted to remember this file by TankESP. Clicking “Yes” will result in the program automatically finding that same backend file when you open the software in the future.  Clicking “No” will result in you needing to repeat these steps in order to locate the backend file again the next time you open the software.

Confirming the Current Backend File Location

To determine the location of the backend file currently in use, please follow the steps below:

  1. Open the program and click the TankESP Options button in the Admin area of the Main Menu.

  1. Open the program and click the TankESP Options button in the Admin area of the Main Menu.
  2. Click the Load different backend data button. This button allows you to browse to find a different back end file (e.g., to search for a backend file on a server or on your local drive).

  3. A window then appears which allows you to browse to find a different backend file.  Select the intended file.
  4. Upon selecting a different backend file, you will then be prompted to remember this file by TankESP. Clicking “Yes” will result in the program automatically finding that same backend file when you open the software in the future.  Clicking “No” will result in you needing to locate the backend file again the next time you open the software.

Resetting the Remembered Backend File

If you want to clear the selection of a remembered backend file location, please follow the steps below:

  1. Open the program and click the TankESP Options button in the Admin area of the Main Menu.
  2. Click the Reset remembered backend file button. When opening TankESP after clicking this button, the program will default to looking for a backend file in the same folder as the frontend file.
