BREEZE ExDAM includes many time-saving tools and resources to assist users in setting up their model run. Here we will outline how you can easily create a wall from a block structure, where the added block structure has the dimensions of 7 m x 4 m x 7 m (Length x Width x Height) and the goal is to change the width to 8 cm. Please follow the steps below.

  1. After the block has been added, go to the Structures tab.
  2. In the lower left corner, click Edit and then expand the Delta values section. Change the Translation to 0.01 meter. This will enable you to make changes in increments of 0.01 meters.

  3. Select (by left clicking) the block you created. It will then be highlighted in orange. At the same time, press and hold down the Ctrl and Shift keys and left-click the mouse. A message will appear reading “Slide to select plane”.

  4. Slide the mouse. This will activate the cutting plane (i.e., the black rectangular box shown below) and will make the block transparent. You will also be able to see the location in the corresponding direction as you slide your mouse. For this example, slide the mouse such that the cutting plane shows 0.080, which is equivalent to 8 cm from the original point in the Y direction. Now the wall is 8 cm thick, as desired.
