The BREEZE Downwash Analyst contains a 3D display viewer.  There are no editing functions.  Simply learn how to position the view, select an analysis mode, select a stack, and rotate the wind direction.  There's nothing more to it... other than understanding what you're looking at.

Tool Bar

The Display Menu, and corresponding buttons on the Tool Bar provide the following toggle options:

Toggle between top-down '2D' view or perspective '3D' viewing

Toggle the grid lines and axes annotations on/off as desired

Reset the view (i.e. center all objects in the view)

Use the mouse to Rotate, Pan, Zoom, and Center the view as follows:

Rotate

Left Mouse - Click down and drag up/down and left/right

Select Analysis Mode

Select one of the four viewing modes from the Analysis Modes list located in the upper left corner of the application.  The following section describes the five Analysis Modes.

Analysis Mode Selection Box

Analysis Mode Selection Box

1.BPIP GEP - Select Stack & Wind Direction - Displays the single-tier or tier-group, with it's GEP-SIZ, that produces the maximum GEP stack height for a selected stack and a selected wind direction.
2.BPIP GEP Max - Select Stack - Displays the single-tier or tier-group, with it's GEP-SIZ, and the single wind direction that produces the maximum GEP height for a selected stack.
3.BPIP HWE - Select Stack & Wind Direction - Displays the single-tier or tier-group, with it's HWE-SIZ, that produces the maximum HWE for a selected stack and a selected wind direction.
4.BPIP Output - Select Stack & Wind Direction - Displays the single-tier or tier-group that produces the maximum HWE and it's corresponding BPIPs (i.e. profile box with height, width, length, and X,Y offsets) for a selected stack and a selected wind direction.
5.PRM Plume - Select Stack & Time - Use BREEZE AERMOD to generate a PRIME plume downwash file (see the AERMOD | Input Menu | Output Options | Other File & Options).  Load the file into Downwash Analyst to observe how the BPIP building profile parameters are used to generate the wake boundary, cavity boundary, and downwash-modified plume.  Observe all hourly downwash (i.e. plume) geometry by selecting both a stack and a time, in either the 3D Display or the side-view Chart display.

Select a Stack

All five Anaysis Modes require the selection of a single stack.  For example, the BPIP GEP - Select Stack & Wind Direction mode acts on one stack at a time.  When you enter this mode the Stacks List displays a list of all stacks.  Select a stack by either clicking directly on the stack in the the 3D window with the left mouse button or by clicking on the name of the stack in the stack list.

Rotate the Wind Direction

Three of the five Analysis Modes involve rotating the wind direction around a selected stack.  For example, in the BPIP GEP - Select Stack & Wind Direction mode a Wind Direction Slider Bar is displayed at the bottom of the 3D  window and a wind direction arrow is displayed, projecting out from the top of the selected stack, in the direction of the current wind direction.  Rotate the wind direction by clicking down with the left mouse button, anywhere on the Wind Direction Slider, and dragging the mouse left/right to rotate CW/CWW respectively.
