AutoCAD DXF (Drawing Interchange Format, or Drawing Exchange Format) is a CAD data file format, developed by Autodesk as their solution for enabling data interoperability between AutoCAD and other programs.
Base maps can also be imported and removed using the Map Manager tool.
There are two ways to launch this tool.
| 1. | From the Tools menu, select the Import DXF menu item |
| 2. | When using the Tab Interface, select the Import DXF item within the Maps tool box when in the Map display window. |

The BREEZE Import wizard will guide the user through each step of importation.
Step 1: DXF file
Select the DXF file you want to import by clicking on the button in the DXF file group box, the DXF file will be displayed in the Preview group box.

Step 2: Units

Units: Specify the units that the DXF is measured in. By default, the meters unit is selected. This is not necessarily the appropriate unit for the imported DXF.
Step 3: Rotate

Rotation: Enter the desired rotation angle, if any. A positive number will rotate the map clockwise, a negative number, counterclockwise.
Step 4: Reference Point
A location on the DXF map must be referenced with a location in the modeling domain. Click a known position on the DXF map with the left mouse button. This position's coordinates will be displayed in the DXF X and DXF Y text boxes.

DXF X: X coordinate of the selected position on the DXF map.
DXF Y: Y coordinate of the selected position on the DXF map.
Easting: The coordinate of easting for the selection position on the DXF map.
Northing: The coordinate of northing for the selection position on the DXF map.
UTM zone: The UTM zone in which the DXF image is located. Only necessary if the model object projection is set to UTM.
Hemisphere: The Hemisphere in which the DXF image falls. Only necessary Only necessary if the model object projection is set to UTM.
NOTE: The DXF file reference point coordinates must be based on the same coordinate system used by model object.
